Description and Requirements

Position Name: Devops Engineer

Position Description:    

Self-motivated individual who is responsible for technical support for the Lenovo Global eCommerce applications/tools including automating solutions to advance our IT offerings and vision. Work with broad cross functional teams like Web Architecture, Product Owner and Software Development to understand business direction and requirements and assist in operational solutions to address those needs. Need to show a proven ability to operate and support web-based solutions. Candidate needs to be self-driven, able to work independently and very passionate with IT technology advancements.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will take full ownership of the IT operations functional aspects. We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic DevOps Engineer who has the following qualities and responsibilities:

•             Develop scripts to automate day-to-day operation processes which require manual work.

  • Support the application CI/CD pipeline for promoting software into higher environments

•             Manage operation day-to-day technical issues.

•             Troubleshooting, root causing, perform web platform administration activities ensuring issues are resolved in timely fashion within agreed SLA.

•             Perform site performance monitoring to determine system performance bottlenecks and Root Cause Analysis.

•             Proactive learner with the ability to research and quickly utilize new technologies.

•             Work with other cross-functional and enterprise-wide organizations to develop system and process enhancements.

•             Understand business requirements, both current and future, and design automation solutions to achieve the business directives.

Skills/Tools requirements:

  • OS – Linux, Unix
  • Data Sources – MySQL, Mongo, Redis.
  • Source Control – GIT
  • Test and Build systems – Jenkins
  • Web Servers - Nginx, Tomcat,
  • Micro Services architecture
  • Containerization tools - Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Logging – ELK / Splunk.
  • Monitoring tools  – Zabbix, Prometheus
  • Strong scripting and automation skills – Perl / Python / Java / Bash / Shell / Ansible / Chef / Helm / Terraform
  • Network – F5, Firewall, Load Balancing, Reverse Proxy, DNS, DMZ, etc.
  • Security – SSL, Web security scans, Checksum, etc.
  • Cloud technologies – AWS, Azure

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Computer Science / Information Technology from a reputable university/college with a minimum 5 years of working experience in IT Application Devops.
  • Passionate with Technical IT work and adopting new technologies.
  • Experience in managing Linux based infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience at least in one scripting language.
  • Hands-on experience with databases including MySQL, Mongo, Redis.
  • Knowledge of Java/JVM based languages.
  • Knowledge and experience of working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Knowledge in CI/CD processes
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.
  • Good teamwork.
  • Good time-management skills.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Full-time position.
