Description and Requirements

The Chief of Staff role is a highly strategic and facilitative position that requires a combination of focus and flexibility, as well as willingness to play an active, operational, and communicative role.  The role requires exceptional emotional intelligence, and self-motivation, alongside strong analytical and interpersonal skills.  This position will have a focused customer orientation and thinks about customers’ priorities, the value we can deliver, making trade-offs that ultimately differentiate us from the competition in the eyes of the customer.

The ideal candidate will possess a professional demeanor, excellent communication, and organizational skills with the ability to work on a wide range of tasks and strategic initiatives.  You will operate as a key component in our management team effectiveness and will act as a key contributor on strategy formation, and enabling the executive team to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate and manage the process of identifying, prioritizing, chartering, communicating, and managing key projects, in addition to a clear definition of what success looks like for each of these projects
  • Track key strategic actions, drive them to closure and manage the process of tracking and communicating performance against objectives
  • Support the CMO in setting the overall strategy of the team and in day-to-day operations.  Establish and maintain a business management system, including the management of staff agenda and meetings
  • Support the CMO in their day-to-day activities (presentations to customers, executives and other external audiences, preparation for critical meetings and business reviews)
  • Develops, implements, and ensures execution of focus areas, priorities, and strategies
  • Operates at a tactical, strategic, and operational level, handling the oversight of projects that do not neatly fit within the organizational chart or fall between leadership areas of responsibility
  • Supports the productivity of leadership/team meetings by owning the agenda, planning, and action items/owners
  • Provides support and drives projects and key strategic initiatives as needed.
  • Culture champion: develops programs and solutions that promote and align with the Lenovo Way
  • Monitor and identify priorities that require senior leadership focus

Position Requirements:

Basic Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience working in the technology industry
  • 5+ years in leadership or project leadership roles
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience

Preferred Requirements:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize large amounts of information from multiple sources to draw conclusions
  • Management experience preferred
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently with and across all levels of business within very large and complex organizations
  • Ability to navigate Lenovo and build great work relationships through collaboration, spanning Product, Sales, Marketing and Finance
  • Demonstrated team building experience, leadership, and the ability to manage multiple complex projects engagements concurrently
  • Keen business and financial acumen - understand our strategy and govern the strategic plan and offer recommendations for improvement
  • Proven ability to act as a trusted stakeholder  
  • Ability to give and receive feedback and constructive criticism
  • Technology Industry Knowledge
  • Marketing background is considered an asset
  • Some business travel is required (~35%)
