Description and Requirements

We are seeking an individual who can drive component selection, qualification and usage on a design and/or component category. You will work closely with a cross functional team of electrical and mechanical engineers, manufacturing, contract manufacture and component vendor to coordinate and facilitate the execution of the product's quality needs.

You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within a fast-paced environment. In this role, you will:

  • Responsible for electronic components selection for Server MB design , including primary and alternative source
  • Generate specifications for new custom parts
  • Develop and execute component evaluation, acceptance and qualification test plans
  • Review vendors report and perform components validation testing
  • Identify critical and high risk components in products. Develop and execute test plans for these components
  • Work with cross-functional teams to qualify the 2nd sources for material availability, cost reduction and reliability improvement
  • Review and follow up the PCN (Product Change Notices) from vendors
  • Review vendor component roadmaps on a regular basis and serve as the Lenovo focal point. 
  • Proactively identify and drive solutions to resolve End-of-life (EOL) and obsolete situations and minimize impacts
  • Understand component technology roadmaps/trends
  • Maintain and manage component database
  • Maintain and manage component usage database across Lenovo products.

Position Requirements:

  • 3 years of component management and hands-on experience with component test execution
  •  Experience building and designing component test cases including knowledge of test methodologies
  • Experience in working with overseas CM/OEM/ODM Vendors in product development
  • Proven ability to deliver in a changing environment
  • Experienced in gathering requirements and providing specifications
  • Comfortable with writing and communicating to peer and management in both Mandarin and English
