Description and Requirements

Directs the development and implementation of activities in production area(s) to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives. Manages the activities of the team and is responsible for staffing decisions, training and development, and performance management of the staff.   Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply. Plans and administers procedures and budgets. Makes budgetary recommendations regarding and, at higher levels, controls capital expenditures and direct/indirect labor as required. Develops schedules and manpower requirements for assigned areas. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.  Position will report directly to Sr Operations Manager

Key Primary responsibilities are:

·          Coordinates with Managers and Supervisors regarding the daily work schedules.   Assists in establishing priorities to ensure on-time deliveries.  Monitors output against schedule and attempts to identify resource utilization concerns.  Suggests adjustments in resources (personnel, equipment) as necessary

·          Acts as resource to Supervisors in troubleshooting production problems including material, equipment, process, and product engineering.  Works with staff to implement statistical process control and continuous quality improvement team programs.

·          Monitors the performance of assigned Managers and Supervisors.  Provides staff with timely feedback and coaching.  Provides guidance to staff in dealing with non-routine employee relations issues e.g., employee warnings.  Formally assesses the performance of direct reports.  Assists staff in developing required skills. Ensures employees are familiarized with Company policies and procedures and trained on proper production methods. 

·          Comfortable working in a fast-paced dynamic environment where customer requirements are frequently modified

·          Execute tactical day-to-day requirements and monitor operational metrics

·          Continually review customer expectations and communicate with team to drive continuous improvement of operational/customer metrics and Lenovo (USFC) financial performance as required

·          Provide cost impact analysis to review with Sr. Management for non-standard activities/requests

·          Coordination of activities to ensure departmental compliance to all Federal, State, Local and Company regulatory requirements, including RBA, OSHA, ISO, and Company polices relative to the repair of product, Quality control requirements, documentation requirements, housekeeping, preventative maintenance, calibration, and associate safety & training.

·          Preparation and presentation of the detailed KPI’s associated with business level performances

·          Assure acceptable product specific quality levels are met and always maintained

·          Participant in developing, planning, executing, and maintaining departmental safety, quality, and cost reduction programs

·          Responsible for providing effective leadership to achieve departmental performance objectives (safety, quality, cost, service, and associated motivation & morale)

·           Forecast future production levels and required product capabilities based on inputs from the Services organization.  Participates in developing the annual business plan for the Operation.  Develops supporting capacity plans including staffing levels and equipment requirements

Basic Qualifications:

-BS Degree or equivalent experience

-5+ years of relevant experience

-Intermediate knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (SAP, etc.…)

-Metrics measurements (i.e., delivery, costs, quality audits, exceeding all internal KPI metrics)

-Continuous Improvement Quality process (i.e., Lean Mfg., Six Sigma, ISO)

-Proven competencies in (i.e., Word, Excel, Access, MS Office)

-Analytical skills to evaluate, report, select and implement cost-effective measures

Preferred Qualifications:

-Excellent communication skills (written and oral), listening, and ability to ask questions

-Ability to learn, make decisions and be creative/flexible

-Accuracy, efficient and proactive in completion of duties

-Positive attitude, friendly personality, positive workplace behavior, self-motivated

-Electronics repair background preferred

-Team Player
