Position Description

The Finance Data Management Tower is an exciting new team as part of Lenovo’s overall Finance Transformation team tasked with ensuring the integrity of financial data to support leadership business decisions. This involves defining the financial data roadmap and identifying, analyzing, and resolving end-to-end data issues across the finance technology stack in a structured and systematic manner.

This role requires a dynamic, highly organized individual who is able to support a global tax project to enhance governance and controls, centralizing data collection, and streamlining and improving tax compliance processes, as well as enabling end-to-end automation possibilities.

From day one, you will be entrusted to spearhead and champion change for PRC, working along aside with colleagues across the world. The ideal candidate will excel in critical thinking, analytical capabilities, and problem-solving. This position requires the individual to work cross-functionally across a matrixed organization, within their own department and other departments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Global Tax Platform (a data portal for data management, reporting, and analytics) governance responsibilities
  • Attending knowledge transfer sessions for different entities/countries in respective geographies
  • Organize data template rollover process and get approvals for each information request from providers
  • Attending any meetings regarding overdue items and help with realizing resolutions
  • Partner with external service provider to ensure accuracy of data requests and timelines to avoid filling risks
  • Monitor to/from data transfer from Lenovo and resolve issues
  • Analyze data requirements and information requests to identify synergies for process automation.
  • Investigate breaks in data quality issues
  • Carry out annual Fupan (annual review) for respective geographies, address the key risks/pain points, and provide solutions
  • Report to the Management team periodically on the project progress and track milestones
  • Adopt a continuous improvement mindset by engaging with different teams, gathering lessons learned and adapting the process for future projects
  • Manage multiple projects at once
  • Explore opportunities to drive standardization and transformation to facilitate data flow for statutory audit and tax compliance
  • Collaborate with technical teams to provide input on technical solutions and support end-to-end solution delivery
  • Coordinate across projects to understand dependencies, communication requirements, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience in PRC CIT annual filling
  • Problem solving skills, pro-active, creativity and can-do attitude
  • The ability to apply skills and knowledge to a range of problems and issues.
  • Demonstrated project management & project governance ability, preferably in finance transformation
  • Possess a deep knowledge and strong understanding of the overall finance function operations and business process re-engineering.
  • Good understanding of accounting and tax principles as well as financial reporting
  • Leadership skills and ability to multitask within a fast paced & dynamic workplace
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong customer focus and the ability to build relationships internally and externally.
  • Ability to work as part of a cross-cultural team incl. flexibility to support multiple time zones
  • Demonstrate characteristics of a forward thinker and self-motivator that thrives on new challenges and adapts quickly to learning new knowledge
  • A degree in business, finance, accounting, computer science, engineering, or a related field
  • Fluency in Mandarin and English is a must

Preferred qualifications

  • Previous experience working with technology that enables finance function, preferably SAP ECC and SAP S/4 Hana
  • Previous experience of liaising with clients and key stakeholders
  • Previous exposure/experience to/in global or regional finance shared services
  • Certification in lean six sigma and project management is plus
  • Hands-on operational management and change management.
  • Experience in managing enterprise data assets in a large, complex organization
