Lenovo is looking for a seasoned HPC Consultant to join its Global HPC Professional Services team.
This position represents a rewarding opportunity to use your experience and skills in a dynamic, complex organization and to deliver across our major customer sites.
The Lenovo Professional Services HPC Consultant will:
- Implement and deliver HPC Cluster and AI solution services around Lenovo products.
- Perform Solution optimization, Migration and upgradation and recommends strategies
- Operate onsite (includes travels) or remotely
- Work collaboratively, complementary with hardware sales team, technical sales (presales) team and Business Partners
- Work on a billable basis (customer paid projects)
Organization
You will be part of a global HPC team supporting customers around the world. You will participate in weekly collaborative planning calls and meetings.
What you’ll bring/Position Requirements:
The candidate is expected to work effectively in providing onsite technical services in the areas of Lenovo HPC & AI platforms and solutions. This person will be responsible for designing and implementing the HPC solution at customer sites, involving Server, Storage, Network, Power and Cooling, OS, and cluster management software.
Knowledge and working experience on the following technologies/areas:
- HPC network using InfiniBand, Intel OPA, and RDMA
- HPC storage clustered/distributed/parallel filesystems and scale out storage technologies for example GPFS, Lustre, Ceph, BeeGFS, etc
- Job scheduling with for example IBM Spectrum LSF (used by client), Slurm, MOAB or equivalent.
- Parallel programming like MPI, open MP and CUDA
- HPC cluster availability and performance monitoring with tools such as Icinga, Grafana, etc
- HPC cluster management, user administration, inventory management, health check and Reporting.
- Role includes performance analysis/ tuning of Lenovo System x servers.
The job responsibilities involve provide knowledge transfer, Troubleshoot, resolve and advise on the mentioned infrastructure and technologies.
Applicant must possess strong customer interaction skills and ability to make technical decisions. Collaborate during projects with several organization verticals, partners, and customers. Develop training and knowledge base documentation for technical skills throughout career.
Skills Required:
- Experience on x86 server installation, troubleshooting and performance tuning. Knowledge on CPU/GPU/memory/RAID/storage/Data Center technologies.
- Experience on Ethernet, InfiniBand and OPA network technologies
- Experience in Linux (i.e.. Suse, RHEL & CentOS)
- Experience on HPC cluster manager & Job scheduler
- Experience on Parallel filesystem like GPFS/Lustre/Ceph/BeeGFS
- Experience on HPC system troubleshooting and support
- Experience in cluster availability and performance monitoring with Icinga, Grafana, etc
- Knowledge on Opensource scientific libraries
- Experience on Parallel programming like MPI, open MP, CUDA
- Knowledge on System Management related skills, e.g. IPMI/SNMP
- Good knowledge of Visio, Excel and PowerPoint
- Very good hands-on technical skills and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
