Hardware/Software Engineering Intern - ThinkStation

The Lenovo Workstation Architecture team is responsible for the design and development of next generation of high-end client desktop workstations, and software solutions tailored around maximizing our customers' user experience and productivity. This position is for a either a hardware or software intern. Typical job activities for a software intern will consist of working with architects to design, code, and test various software applications. Applications we design/develop vary in nature, but could range from web-based development tools to end-user workstation applications. Typical activities for a hardware intern will include working with architects and engineers to test and debug PC workstations and their components, and work on the design and testing of new potential hardware solutions. Required:

  • Rising senior or junior at a participating NC HBCU (Historically Black Colleges & University) 
  • Minimum 2.8 GPA
  • Undergraduate student
  • Computer Science Major with software/programming focus 
  • Good software and hardware debugging skills 
  • Experience working with PC hardware 
  • Ability to work/think independently, yet also work well in a team setting and take direction from others 
  • Good organizational and communication skills

Preferred:
  • Completed entry-level programming courses with at least a 3.0 GPA 
  • Familiar with HTML, Java, C programming (Python, C#, C++) skills is a plus
  • Currently enrolled at an HBCU
