Advisory Industrial Designer

The Design Innovation Team (DIT) is a global group of highly skilled and talented people doing what we love, designing the very best world-class devices. You will be an integral part of the team, working together across continents and cultures in a friendly, fast-paced and inspiring work environment. We’re looking to add fresh, talented individuals who are self-motivated and desire infinite opportunities. We design and deliver technology products to a wide range of customers and use cases with brands such as: ThinkPad, ThinkBook, Yoga, Ideapad, and our Legion gaming products. By joining the Lenovo DIT team, you have the opportunity to make a difference and be challenged to create design excellence.

As an Industrial Designer, you will lead designing world-class, end-to-end experiences that are embracing Design Excellence. By harnessing trend, customer and technology insights, you will develop products and experiences using an integrated design, engineering, and business approach. You will play an integral role in our overall Design team and will be part of an eclectic mix of great designers and craftspeople.

We are looking for an inspiring individual with the ability to drive design experiences from concept through production. You will work across all levels of the design organization, creating design vision, seeking alignment and inspiring others to action. You should be a visionary with the ability to inspire others and impact the business.

  • Understands latest CE technologies and manufacturing processes
  • Well-versed in user-centered design methods and techniques
  • Ability to visualize the end to end experience beyond just hardware
  • 2D skills: excellence sketching, fluent Adobe Creative Suite
  • 3D skills: Study models, breadboards, proof of principle models and prototypes
  • 3D CAD fluency (SolidWorks, Pro/Engineer or Alias) and KeyShot

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Industrial Design
  • 5+ years relevant experience in design strategy, industrial design including colors, materials & finishes, ideally in a consumer electronics product environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe CS and 2D/3D CAD
  • Ability to travel to international sites
