We’re looking for a thermal engineer within Consumer Product Solution Development (CPSD) at Lenovo. In this role you will work directly with engineering teams responsible for building new innovations and unique experiences.
You’ll be part of highly dynamic technology team and engineering solutions from concept, to design, to mass production. In this role you will be working with both local and globally distributed teams and will be responsible for algorithm development for performance and power optimization. You will apply your knowledge of software to execute and oversee software development tasks associated with designing, developing, and debugging prototype experiences.

■Roles and responsibilities
- Optimization of SoC power consumption and performance
- SoC control algorithm design
- Development of proof of concept (PoC) products and verifications
- Regularly present prototype solutions and proposals to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proactively engage with worldwide technical teams to ensure alignment of requirements and future vision of the product teams.
■Key Interaction with:
- Lenovo development team in Yokohama, Japan
- Lenovo development team in US/China offices
- External ODM/SoC/OS development partner companies, both domestic and international
■Requirements - Must Have
- BS in electronics, information technology, or equivalent experience. Thermal development experience on portable electrical devices (mass production level)
- Knowledge of PC HW architecture; OS, BIOS, ECFW
- Problem debugging and solving skill
- Possess strong mathematical, analytical, logic thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Fluent English communication skill for both written (e-mail etc.) and verbal for daily activities. (TOEIC score 600 or up)
- Daily Japanese conversation skill if the applicant’s native language is not Japanese.
■Requirements - Good to Have
- MS/PhD in electronics, information technology
- Experience in translating marketing requirements into proof-of-concept designs
- UX design experience
- Experience in SW development (C, C++, C#, Python…)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Data analysis based on statistics
- TOEIC score 700 or above.
