This position is to work as a researcher in a team of LR Yokohama whose research focus is Human Computer Interaction (HCI), conduct research work in computer vision and AI fields, and develop innovate technologies for smart devices and services.
We are looking for a talented and passionate researcher who is highly motivated to create new technologies. The candidate should have R&D background (either in a university and/or in a company), and have experience of computer vision research, possibly deep and machining learning research.
Role and Responsibility
- Work on research projects of HCI as a team member
- Create innovative concepts, features and User Experiences (UX) in computer vision and AI fields
- Design and evaluate algorithms, and build Proof-of-Concept (PoC) prototypes
- Conduct performance testing and user testing
- Report research status to project and line management
- Make inventions for patent application
- Communicate with and support local team members, and collaborate with other LR teams in China and US
- Collaborate with Lenovo Business Unit (BU) and transfer developed technologies to BU if required
- MSc or PhD in computer/information science, electronics engineering or a related field
Required experience & skills
- MSc or PhD in computer/information science, electronics engineering or a related field
- 5+ years’ R&D experience in image processing, computer vision, and/or deep learning in academic or industrial domain
- Basic and advanced image processing, computer vision algorithm design
- Proficient programming skills in Python, C++, Java
- Written and verbal communication skills in business English for efficient communication with team
- Basic English communication skills
Nice-to-have experience & skills
- Experience of collaborating with other researchers or engineers in a global work environment
- Publication in top-tier research conferences (ICCV, ECCV, CVPR, etc.)
- R&D project management experience
- Experience with OpenCV/GL and other computer vision libraries
- Experience with machine learning, deep learning frameworks like Tensorflow or PyTorch
- Experience with training models through GPU computing
- Knowledge of processor/OS architecture of PC and phone
- Embedded software development skills
- Proficient English communication skills
- Japanese/Chinese communication skills
