◇Position Description◇
■Job Description Summary
Japan is the largest TAM for storage in our AP region. There is a large opportunity to grow market share. Japan carries 20% of the AP target and requires a Storage Technical Specialist to sell our solutions. This resource is also required to maintain continuity with existing customer base.
Lenovo is drastically enhancing its Storage products portfolio and is looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Storage Sales person to drive Lenovo’s storage portfolio. As a Lenovo Storage Sales Specialist in Lenovo’s datacenter group you will get engaged in promoting Lenovo Enterprise Solutions. You will work with CTOs, IT decision makers, Lenovo pre-sales and sales teams, with Lenovo partners and ISVs. Your goal and target is to drive Lenovo’s data center opportunities through the sales cycle, from understanding customer business and technical requirements, building the solution architecture and closing deals.
■Roles and responsibilities
For our Japan Region, we are looking for a Technical Expert who can fulfil these roles:
・As a lead pre-sales person, provide technical consultancy to customers and prospects on Lenovo’s data center products and solutions with focus specifically on Storage, and be seen as the region's Subject Matter Expert (SME) for storage solutions.
・Build strong customer relationships and become the trusted adviser for the account.
・Conduct technical presentations to clients in an individual capacity or along with the account team.
・Lead develop proposals for client projects, provide technical inputs for client RFPs and take the lead role on ensuring technical feasibility.
・Be the local "Go To" person for competitive information.
・Help out with the creation and verification of technical configurations for storage solutions.
・Conduct technical proofs of concept (POC) for Lenovo’s solutions and where necessary be the advisor during the implementation and support stages of the sales cycle.
・Participate in deep-dive discussions as well as be responsible for evaluating the customer's current and desired business and infrastructure needs.
・Continuously build deep skill in storage products and software defined storage solutions and impart them to the local sales and presales team.
・Collaborate with Lenovo’s ISV partners to build market leading technical solutions.
・Obtain client feedback on Lenovo’s hardware products and solutions and share it with the global development teams for continuous improvement in product quality.
Be responsible for conducting business partner enablement webinars and have the ability to speak in external events, seminars, etc.
◇Requirements◇
■Must Have – essential
【Experience】
・Strong verbal and written communication skills including presentation skills in Japanese and English
・Successful track record of supporting the closure of business with technical consultancy
・Successful track record of creating, presenting and positioning IT primary storage, HyperConvergence, Convergence and/or server virtualization solutions directly to end customers and via reseller channels
・Experience in understanding the differences between various vendor implementations of Data tiering, Data Migrations, Multi-site deployments, and cloud integration, and the ability to articulate the differences in software capabilities of vendor storage technologies
・Experience in using consultative sales techniques and able to articulate the technical value proposition to the customer
・Ability to work collaboratively with employees within the sales function and across functions including Marketing, Sales, Product Marketing and Product Development
・Commercial awareness of the local Competitive Market, business partner objectives and the customer industry environment, preferably in the external storage market and hyperscale cloud industry.
◆5+ years of experience in any three of the following infrastructure technologies:
* Enterprise Storage, including Software defined Storage (e.g., Pure, EMC Unity & Isilon, NetApp Ontap)
* Public cloud infrastructure alternatives such AWS, GCP and Microsoft Azure
* Vmware Virtualization (ESXi, vCloud Director, vRealize, vSAN)
* Network attached Storage / File Storage (e.g. NetApp, EMC)
* Flash Storage (e.g. Pure Storage, Tintri)
* Storage virtualization (e.g. DataCore)
* Backup to disk / Backup to tape environments
【Skill, Competency】
・Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
