Solutions Specialist   (Lenovo – Infrastructure Solutions Group)

The Role

After a successful year that involved many promotions, the Lenovo Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG) is seeking Solutions Specialist to join the sales team.

The role is a crucial part of the ISG. You will be tasked with finding and developing new opportunities to increase Lenovo’s market share so your demonstrated data center product knowledge, proven sales record, and ability to work to aggressive targets will be pivotal to your success in this role.


Reporting to the Solutions Director, the specifics of the role include:

  • Providing technical sales support to the sales teams
  • Work with the sales teams to develop strategic pricing structures
  • Actively participate in quarterly Account and Territory strategy planning sessions with input into the ISG strategy and pipeline
  • Liaising directly with customers and business partners to design customer specific solutions
  • Managing multiple complex sales engagements at any given time
  • Keeping abreast of industry trends in server, storage and virtualization technology

About You

We want someone who has the ability to make independent and sound technical sales decisions and is confident in their ability. In particular you will have;

  • Demonstrated experience within Enterprise server/storage technical sales and/or delivery
  • Demonstrated experiences in the design and configuration of x86 server/storage/network products
  • Self-starter who is able to grasp a technical concept and translate it into a customer centric solution
  • Knowledge of basic workloads and major software environments
  • You will have a demonstrated sales track record with a genuine passion for exceptional service delivery
  • You have a good competitive knowledge of the Server and Storage market
  • A passion to serve the customer
  • Enjoy working with partner community in and collaborate with pre-sales colleagues globally
  • An ability to quickly communicate complex ideas around a technical topic, think on the fly , develop a structured presentation and explain a point of view
  • Exceptional communication skills are a must and your superior presentation and listening skills will be second to none
  • Experience with VMWare Solutions, Microsoft Solutions, Nutanix Solutions, NetApp products, containers and Network infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas: Linux, VMware, Microsoft and NetApp ONtap
  • An understanding of core security concerns within a typical infrastructure
  • The ability to disperse knowledge to a highly skilled and experienced audience.
  • A passion to be in the forefront of technology, learning a diverse set of technologies and helping solve real world customer challenges
  • Enjoy being in a fast paced environment, to help customers accelerate their business transformations, rapid adoption of technology and own a trusted advisor technical relationship
  • Enjoy travel and meeting customers - typically around 25%. Travel will be mainly domestic in Australia.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS or a comparable field
  • Infrastructure management experience
