Description and Requirements

Lenovo Workstations provide powerful solutions to drive productivity, innovation, and design excellence in key vertical segments such as Manufacturing Design, Engineering & CAD, Animation/Media/Web Creation, Science/Medical, Oil & Gas, and Finance. 

To maintain our leadership and compete in this aggressive marketplace, we are seeking to enhance our team with a DFC (Design for Capacity) Engineer. Responsibilities include innovative design, development, and validation of workstation alternate component solutions. This opportunity will require innovation and creativity in providing solutions with minimal impact to the overall product design.

For this role you will be working closely with System and Electrical Architects to identify, design, and provide alternate solutions for high-risk components. You will also be responsible for supporting our product delivery teams on component obsolescence. Engaging with vendors on component roadmaps, datasheets, and lifecycle will also be required.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • 3+ years experience with electrical circuit design and board layout
  • Basic understanding of component engineering 
  • PC architecture, storage architecture, network architecture
  • Results oriented in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Positive professional attitude with flexibility

Preferred Requirements:

  • High speed circuit design
  • Design for high volume production
  • Familiarity with industry component suppliers
  • Sole source parts management
