Description and Requirements

Position Description:

The Lenovo Services and Solutions Group is experiencing tremendous growth and is hiring for WW Support Services Portfolio Manager.  This person will be responsible for defining the full Support Services portfolio required for PC Services including short-term and long-term visions.  Support Services in this case is defined as services required to provide diagnostic, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair services for IT systems.

This role will work with strategy, product managers, sales, customers, analysts, hardware teams, delivery and other stakeholders to understand the support services market and will define the needed portfolio of products required to succeed as best in class in the support services space. 

The candidate should have a strong background in Support Services and prior portfolio and/or product management experience.  The ideal candidate will also have a background in overall Services and a strong understanding of how to succeed selling both direct and through the channel.

Success will require the ability to influence and maintain open communication with all areas of the company at multiple levels.  This person must be able to manage complexity, think creatively, deal with ambiguity, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. 

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize market intelligence, competitive analytics, sales feedback and customer feedback to formulate both a short-term and long-term Support Services portfolio strategy that will drive Lenovo to be the industry leader in Support Services
  • Assess future technology for usage in Support Services portfolio to differentiate Lenovo Support Services and drive it to the forefront of the industry
  • Rationalize the current Support Services portfolio, identify gaps/overlaps and make recommendations on the future of all existing products
  • Prioritize offering development and create roadmaps for driving to a complete portfolio vision – may include bundling existing products into solutions as part of the portfolio
  • Create clear portfolio vision that can be utilized by marketing to create sales and customer-facing documentation
  • Function as the input for strategic and offering ideas coming from the geography sales teams to drive a centralized offering development process
  • Drive alignment with Segments, other Offer Towers and sales on Support Services portfolio vision and strategy
  • Ensure Support Services portfolio is cohesive with the corporate strategy and other offerings being created outside of Support Services
  • Be the internal SME for Support Services

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree a plus
  • At least 8 years years of PC Services product experience – sales/marketing and channel experience a plus
  • 5+ years of portfolio management, product development or similar experience

  • A collaborative approach to meeting business objectives and ability to influence at all levels of matrixed organizations
