Position Description
The Finance Data Management Tower is an exciting new team as part of Lenovo’s overall Finance Transformation team tasked with ensuring the integrity of financial data to support leadership business decisions. This involves defining the financial data roadmap and identifying, analyzing, and resolving end-to-end data issues across the finance technology stack in a structured and systematic manner.
This role requires a dynamic, highly organized leader who is comfortable dealing with ambiguity and influencing stakeholders. The position will be a strategic partner to the leadership team to effectively drive outcomes and business imperatives.
From day one, you will be entrusted to spearhead workstreams and champion change in alignment with the overall data roadmap. The ideal candidate will excel in critical thinking, analytical capabilities, and problem-solving.
The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and building the data governance policies & procedures for Lenovo Finance as well as being actively involved in broader transformation initiatives across Lenovo Finance.
This position requires the individual to work cross-functionally across a matrixed organization, within their own department and other departments.

Key responsibilities include:
Data Governance
- Develop the data transformation roadmap for the Finance organization
- Address complex and ambiguous data issues through a systematic approach
- Define KPIs for data quality-related metrics and create a reporting framework to track them
- Track data governance exception rules and conduct root cause analysis for DQ issues.
- Engage with domain leads and stakeholders to develop master data framework, nomenclature, and taxonomy standard
- Liaise with different department to resolve issues and answer finance data-related inquiries
- Govern master data from initial creation to delivery across solutions by providing one version and consistent data.
- Monitor overall health of the data and support cleansing efforts
- Partner with functional leaders to ensure data processes & procedures are followed and completed.
- Coordinate with master data stewards/owners across functions to ensure a robust governance system
- Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
Process Optimization & Automation
- Liaise with company-wide programs and represent Lenovo Finance in evaluation and implementation of existing and emerging digital tools
- Evaluate existing processes by de-constructing business processes flows and studying ways to make improvements to one or many steps to increase productivity, reduce costs, improve time management or make needed changes to other aspects of the process
- Lead process mapping sessions to add to Lenovo Finance’s process inventory, and maintain narratives, procedures, and process flows.
- Support SAP S4 data migration efforts
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science or related subjects required; Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum 7 years work experience across multiple lines of business
- Experience in working with or managing Data Governance tools and initiatives
- General understanding of the end-to-end process for generating management reports from transaction to reporting
- Understanding of data management technology landscape, processes, and design principles
- Experience working with SAP systems and data
- Good understanding of finance master data elements such as profit center, cost center, chart of accounts, etc.
- Ability to analyze complex situations and to derive workable actions via critical thinking and problem-solving methodologies
- Ability to constructively challenge requirements and current state to increase overall value to the firm
- Leadership skills and ability to multitask within a fast-paced & dynamic workplace
- Strong communication skills, including extensive experience dealing with various stakeholders
- Ability to work as part of a cross-cultural team incl. flexibility to support multiple time zones
- Demonstrate characteristics of a forward thinker and self-motivator that thrives on new challenges and adapts quickly to learning new knowledge
- High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Fluency in English is a must; proficiency in Mandarin preferred
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in BI tools such as Power BI is preferred
- Candidate with prior management consulting experience will have an added advantage
- Understanding of accounting principles and rules
- Proven track record in operating large data governance programs
- Certification in lean six sigma and project management is plus
- Operational familiarity in the use of meta-data management, data quality, and data stewardship tools and platforms
- Experience in the use of data catalogues and data quality technologies
- Hands-on operational management and change management.
