Description and Requirements

You now have the opportunity to join our DACH team as a Partner Relationship Manager! The position can be based in Stuttgart Germany or Budapest, Hungary.

The position sits with the Channel Solutions and Services (CSS) team and their core objective is to support the sales through the channel network by providing financing solutions for business partner clients who are purchasing products and services directly from Lenovo.

Channel Solutions and Services overview:

  • Although only a relatively small team within Lenovo, CSS is responsible for the collection and risk management of nearly $4bn of Lenovo financial assets at any point in time.
  • We support Business Partners and IT suppliers across 60+ countries in 23 languages, with continued expansion to additional countries and are a major contributor to Lenovo’s Treasury operation.
  • CSS is regarded as a business within Lenovo and a profit centre.

Your overall focus in this function will be to:

Support the objectives of all areas of the Lenovo business in the market and with the clients that you are responsible for.

Identify and progress new opportunities within the current parameters of the business.

Monitor and protect Lenovo’s financial assets.


Your Key Responsibilities include to:

  • Report detailed status of sales opportunities to Lenovo management using appropriate tools
  • Ensure all opportunities are approved by the Lenovo support functions and ensure that all deal conditions are met prior to funding.      
  • Work with the Account Specialists, support the management of a large/complex account portfolio operating under multiple financing programs and representing varying degrees of risk. 
  • Build effective relationships with key individuals in the clients supported at all level    
  • Proactively communicate with the Lenovo Channel organisation and sales teams.  
  • Monitor clients for ongoing program compliance and take appropriate action in instances of      noncompliance. 
  • Clearly and accurately document all customer communications. 

Financial Responsibility:  Individual deal volumes may exceed $200m dollars annually and outstanding balances across the portfolio may total as much as $4bn. This role will be target based and remuneration will be dependent on achievement of sales and business development targets.  

Required skills, education and experience:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English are required 
  • Consultative sales skills will be required and attendance on Lenovo Sales School will be a requisite for this role.
  • Thorough knowledge of finance, accounting, business administration, and secured lending principles as typically acquired through a bachelor's degree program or through relevant Lenovo or industry experience. 
  • A significant degree of analytical and organizational skills will be required.  Must be creative in developing new plans and methods to meet client business needs and also to have the drive and tenacity to gain approvals and support from Lenovo Channel support functions.
  • Requirement to perform financial and business plan analysis, articulate procedures and lending concepts to others, and develop, recommend, and implement action plans as needed with only minimal management direction.  A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a client contact financial services position is desirable.  
  • Ability to apply creativity and sound judgment to the design and implementation of portfolio management strategies to maximize customer satisfaction and minimize risk to Lenovo and customers.
